What are the most important issues facing people in our community?

Within this report is a lot of information. While we invite everyone to dig through our information and extract their own conclusions, the leadership of Healthy Hall has used it to define some community priorities we think are important:

Increasing access to affordable health insurance coverage, especially among the working poor in Hall County.

Expanding access to effective disease prevention services, health screening and disease management strategies for all in Hall County, including those who are low income and uninsured.

Expanding access to dental services, especially for uninsured, low income children.

Continuing to encourage the positive trend away from using the hospital emergency department as a source for routine, non-emergency health care.

Strengthening families by encouraging effective parenting and the development of healthy, safe, confident and community-minded children and youth.

Expanding access to mental health and substance abuse services.

Increasing understanding of existing community services and resources and promoting their effective use.

Reducing the disparities between the poor and others that result in barriers to health, education and quality of life.
